CREATE- Reflecting on my creation

19.  Did I follow my Plan ?
20.  How could I have improved on my creation?
21.  What will I do next time that I did not do this time?

19. I followed my plan down to the last minute, it guided me on what to do on that day. It is just that I couldn't write down my reflections for every single day working on my create section of the MYP Design Cycle Project. So I did follow the plan section of the design cycle thoroughly and efficiently.
20. I could of improved my creation by focusing and overall spending more time on my original plan. My original plan was a lot more advanced (a rap-techno song teaching kids the design cycle) but I stopped my efforts on that once I realized it would take a lot more time than time left to complete the create part of the design cycle deadline.
21. The next time I will complete an MYP project will be that I will make better use of my time in the very beginning of developing the project. I would always get sidetracked and spend a lot more time on one post than the other posts making final important posts deprived of a lot of time and effort.

Reflection:Evaluation

I believe I correctly explained the evaluation part of the design cycle correctly. Today I modified the questions a little more to be a lot more relevant to the structure of the design cycle and for the 6th graders to have a better overall memorization and understanding of of the MYP Design Cycle concept in total. The evaluation process that I performed for the design cycle was given a lot of information on how it related to serving and making my community better. I also evaluated my project also on how I could of made it better and why if going to do future projects. In all I would give myself a 5-6 (90-100) on the design cycle rubric of my evaluation part of the Design Cycle.

Investigation Reflection

The investigation part of my design cycle project was done correctly and efficiently. I rate myself a 5-6 on the design cycle rubric. The problem is explained thoroughly and descriptively. I investigated the problem and see how the problem could be resolved in anyway possible. I also evaluated the problem and saw how and why it graded because it was. I wrote a lot of information about how the investigation concurred with the design cycle in its entirety I described and acknowledged the sources that I used and how they related to the investigation overall.

6th Graders Evaluation

Today I tested my project on my 7th grade brother and his 6th grade friends. I first tested them giving them the site to the game without knowing what it was all about, making them unaware of the MYP Design Cycle. Then I gave them each 3 tries to pass the game. They all were attached to the game deeply but still were being taught the steps in the Design Cycle by memorizing them. Then once each were done with their 3 tries I then asked them the questions from the game to see if they really remembered and learned the Design Cycle. Kid 1# got 4 of the 5 questions right. Kid 2# got 2 out of 5 questions right. Kid 3# got 5 out of the 5 questions right. Overall they did get taught the Design  Cycle so my project is conclusive to teaching about each step of the MYP Design Cycle.

Evaluation Questions

1. How can my learning serve my community?
2. How can your future projects become better?
3. What have you learned about yourself and what you will continue to do or not do and why?
4. How do you feel about your final product? What would you rate yourself on the Rubric scale of 1-6 for each part of the Assessment Criterion?
5. What would you do differently in regards to your planning and execution of your plan?

My learning can serve the community by teaching people in my community learn and use the MYP Design Cycle. My future projects could be better by putting a lot more effort and Attitudes in Technology into my projects. I learned that it takes me a while to get something done in class and so I got to stop doing that. I feel really good about my final project though, I would rate myself a 4 to a 6 on each part of the Assessment Criterion. Next time I would immediately
complete something given to me and that would execute my plan.

Create Product

Reflection:Create

What I did today was that I finally finished my create part of the project. I posted more than 10 questions and a secret bonus question for extra assurance of mastering and knowing the entire steps of the MYP Design Cycle. I completed the Create section with the heavily used freeware program Classtools.com that is really commonly used throughout the high school computer period. It has over 5 levels to use to answer and master the MYP Design Cycle. I also had to plan out each question in the game to see that it was reliable to be in the Design Cycle and to actually teach the student to use the design cycle yet also help the fun enviorment the game is providing for the 6th grader to use and be.

What I Did Today

Picture Not Available For Website Is Blocked

What I did today was that I began to start working on my MYP Design. I used the freeware software program to make a simple game involving the steps and their definitions. It involves a character going through several platforms and levels being rewarded the definition of the Design Cycle after their done with the level that displayed the specific step of the Design Cycle in its background. Today I barley got done withe the intro screen and the first level. And after school today I will finish the 2nd and 3rd levels of the entire 5 levels in this project overall.

Brainstorm- 3 Designs

Design 1-
I will create an easy to code flash game that will demonstrate and show what the definition of that step in the design cycle is to that step of the design cycle.
-At the start of the level it will display the design cycle step
-The player would then go through the obstacles of the level and reach the end
-At the end it displays the definition of that design cycle step
-There will be 5 levels showing each step of the design cycle
-Plus 1 more bonus level to appeal even more to the age group(6th Graders) I am aiming for

Design 2-
Using an easy to code flash game freeware, I will put the steps of the design cycle in the background with their description as well.
-I will create 5 levels
-The backgrounds will have the design cycle step with their description
-Even though it has the design cycle in the background, kids will focus more attention on the content of the game then the actual design cycle
-That is why it would appeal to 6th Graders even more then the average class tools to make a freeware flash game

Design 3-
Using "Class Tools", I will make a flash game where you move through a level and match the design cycle steps with their descriptions.
-This is the software that most people doing this project are using
-It will definately be overused
-It is really easy to program to use for to make a project with
-6th Graders will like this anyway

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

My total amount of time I have to use to complete the MYP project is 540 minutes which divided by 60 equals a total of 9 hours I have to do with until its due October 11.

Create- 2 Hours, October 3
Getting 6th Graders- 30 minutes, October 4
Designing- 1 Hour , October 5
Organize-30 minutes, October 6
SlideShow- 1 Hour, October 7

Audiotools

Audiotools is a freeware music making program. Compared to the music producing giant FL Studio, it looks nothing like it. The format it provides however can be considered even better then FL Studio. With realistic recording studios and equipment, it feels like you are an actual studio recorder. Also the simplicity is very apparent to the start of entering the program. Audiotools in the end maybe even be the most useful freeware music producer ever.

For Audiotools I give its simplicity a 4. Like I stated before, you are aware of the simplicity of the program from the start. It receives a 4 because every tool for beats or instruments is available from the start and even though you would probably have no clue what some of the tools would do, with a little bit of musical background you can guess correctly what some tools do.

I give the appeal of this program a 5 because when you first open this program you are immediatly interested in to it without even knowing what it does. The variety of the realistic instruments and beats is also really appealing to the producer. The realness of all the knobs and hardware is also really appealing to the user too.

The overall graphics of Audiotools is amazing. Instead of the average buttons and simple layouts similar to Microsoft Word, it goes all out by replicating an actual music recording studio. The shadows and textures of the hardware you get to pick from are almost popping out of the computer screen. The uniqeness and realistic graphics is definalty a major highlight of any computer program actually, and Audiotools definalty delivers that.

The satisfaction of a song or beat you create is fairly good. And so is the reason why I give Audiotools a 4. The outcome of the song or beat is almost exactly how you wanted to be. But it receives a 4 because of the complexity of choosing from a wide variety of tools.

Overall, I give Audiotools an 18 out of a 20. Even though it is in a very different format then the music-producing giant Fl Studio, it is more presentable and understandable to a 6th grader then its latter Linux Multimedia Studio. It may even be the most well-rounded freeware program for that matter.

Day 2 Investigation

Today I researched 2 websites that contain the freeware programs Linux Multimedia Studio and Audiotool.  I am looking for a program that is most like the highly used Fl Studio used by top of the line techno and alternative artists. I am looking for simplicity and which program looks more approachable to someone in 6th grade, and that exactly is what Audiotool shows. Now I just need a design story board of how to present it.

The idea I am going to create is to make a techno song, by using either the programs Linux Multimedia Studio and Audiotool. Like I mentioned before, I am looking for a program that is similar to FL Studio. But even though Linux Multimedia almost looks and does exactly what FL Studio does. I am going with AUdiotools because
